| Mission | Peninsula Services assists persons with developmental disabilities, mental illness and other challenges in developing skills and capabilities through an array of comprehensive rehabilitative and supportive services. The programs offered by the agency are based on the belief that persons with disabilities grow and develop as do all persons; that persons with disabilities can work and want to work; and they should be provided with support that accentuates the individual's talents, choice, respect and dignity in pursuing life options. | |
| Persons Served | We provide service to people with developmental disabilities, mental retardation, learning disabilities, autism, cerebral palsy, physical-industrial injuries, traumatic brain injury, vision or hearing impairment, mental health disorders, including depression, bipolar, schizophrenia, anxiety disorders, etc. | |
| Contracts & Work Sites | Clients work in Servmart stores at the Puget Sound Naval Shipyard,Whidbey Island Naval Base, they do grounds maintenance, commissary shelf stocking and janitorial work at a number of businesses in the community. Additionally, clients work in retail sales, as receptionists, in packaging products. They work for county government, in nurseries, insurance companies, grocery stores. | Services & Programs |
Job Development: Provides assistance to the individual in interviewing skills, job seeking, resume development, job securing, etc. Placement Specialists assist the individual in identifying jobs that match interests and skills.
Job Coaching: One-to-one training from skilled rehabilitation aids in how to perform certain tasks required by the job. On-The-Job Training (OJT): Provides a portion (often half) of the employee's wages over a period of time (often three months) while the individual is being trained by the employer. Tax Incentives: The Placement Specialist assists the employer in identifying and obtaining tax breaks and benefits available as a result of hiring persons with disabilities. Job Retention: The Placement Specialist provides extended support and assistance to either the individual or to the employer to assure that a positive work relationship is maintained. |

Washington State Department of Agricultures - Organic Food Progam has officially certified Kitsap E-Z Earth as 100% organic. |
